Experience shows that when an emergency or crisis hits a community, people turn to churches. They are looking for help: shelter, food, water, safety, human connection, and hope. Unless you are 100% sure no emergency will happen in your church neighborhood, it is wise to be prepared. Think of it this way: If your church isn’t willing and ready to help people in a time of significant need, then what are you there for? Two local leaders tell us about the importance for our churches to be prepared to meet the needs in time of emergency, and a great opportunity coming up to help us learn why and how to be prepared.
